On the 9th and 10th of August the celebrations in honour of the patron saint, Saint Laurent, take place in Pré-Saint-Didier. Every year the people of this town dress up to celebrate Saint Laurent’s Day.
Here is the programme:
August 9 – Waiting for Sain Laurent’s Day
- At 7.00 pm Buvette opening at the gym of Pré Saint Didier Elementary School;
- At 8.30 pm opening of entries for the Belotte race (typical card game from Valle d’Aosta)
- At 09.00 pm the competition starts.
From 9:30 pm the Bellevue Inn (Locanda Belleuve) is hosting a White Party in collaboration with Neon energy drink. You’re going to hit the dance floor to the rythm of music from the 70’s 80’s 90’s and of the current most popular songs, entering into the spirit of the party.
August 10 – Saint Laurent’s Day
- 8.00 am The traditional tour of Badoche starts;
- 10.30 am Holy Mass at the Saint Laurent Church;
- 11.30 am several events take place in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele: dances, prizes, sale of artisan pies and a delicious aperitif offered by the organising committee;
- 2.30 pm Card tournaments: people are going to play Scopa, a popular Italian card game;
- 3.30 pm recreational activities for children at the football field: organised in collaboration with volounteer firefighters, ‘Pompieropoli’ is an event where all the children can try to be firefighters for a day.
Later, there’s going to be snacks for everyone!
- 9.00 pm dancing evening in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele;
- 11:00 pm Open air disco at the swimming pool.
