BluEtrusco is back by popular demand in the little village of Murlo in the Siena province! It’s the only festival dedicated to the Etruscan civilization. The 2022 edition will take place on July 22, 23, and 24. There are numerous events planned for the weekend including a historical reenactment, hiking, workshops, guided tours, and even Etruscan food.
Murlo is a small village nestled between the Merse Valley and Val d’Arbia in the province of Siena. In its quaint town center is the Etruscan Museum, Antiquarium of Poggio Civitate, which houses some of the most significant artifacts from the Poggio Aguzzi Necropolis (seventh century BC). Located only 27 km south of Siena, it makes an ideal day trip from Siena and Montepulciano and Montalcino.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Murlo, in collaboration with the Sienese Museums Foundation, Superintendence for the Archaeological Heritage of Tuscany, Archeo and local associations. Universities and important international cultural institutions are involved, as well as the Province of Siena and the Tuscany Region.
