Find out how

Can you feel the spring breeze? It’s time to get out into the warm, fresh air!

Discover new enchanting places in the Veneto region.

Located between the regions of Veneto and Emilia-Romagna, the Po’ Delta Park is one of the most fascinating natural oases with a vast natural, historic and geologic heritage. Before flowing into the Adriatic sea, the Po’ river splits into seven water branches which set up the so-called “active Delta”: a flourishing ecosystem of flora and fauna which changes every season. Thanks to its environmental, cultural, and social value it was included in the Unesco World Heritage List in 1999.

In this territory, the history of the river is likened to the history of man. Since the Stone Age up to now, the long history of this land is conserved in museums and visitor centers along the path from the backlands to the sea. Starting from the National Archaeological Museum of Adria near Rovigo you can reach Ca’ Vendramin and visit the museum dedicated to the reclamation of the swamp area in the 1960s.

The Po’ Delta Park focuses on the concept of “slow tourism”. Take your time discovering the lush landscape through thick reeds and vast horizons. There are plenty of ways to get around within the park: on foot, by boat, by bike or on horseback. It’s your choice!

Thanks to the flat terrain, you can go almost everywhere by bike and everyone can enjoy it! You can hire a bike in one of the many spots around the delta. Don’t miss the cycling path which starts at Porto Viro and takes you all the way to Porto Levante. From there, you can take the ferry to Albarella island: an exclusive island in the north Adriatic sea.

But if a holiday means total relaxation to you, you can hop on a comfortable boat which will lead you along the main courses of the River Po. You’ll be guided through the colorful landscape from a unique point of view.

And, if you are an animal lover, you can enjoy birdwatching everywhere and search for the pink flamingos which live in the park. A special spot for looking at animals is the “Bosco della Mesola” (Mesola Wood), one of the latest, best preserved, valley wood. Located in Emilia-Romagna, it is home to many different bird species and with a bit of luck, you can see deer too.

Finally, don’t forget to try Veneto’s cuisine. Stop to taste one of the savoury traditional dishes: risotto with eel, clam soup, fried shrimp with polenta, or pumpkin cake.

Are you ready to pack your bags?
