Events Happening December 30th

Naples’ iconic Piazza del Plebiscito is the heart of the city and has been the focal point of New Year’s Eve celebrations for years. This year, the festivities begin on December 30th with the popular Italian pop singer Rkomi performing at 9:00 pm. There is no ticket required but obviously, expect to arrive hours before showtime if you want to get a spot.

That same day, there are also two more events planned at other locations in the city. At the Maschio Angioino Castle beginning at 10 am, organizers have planned a fantastic day for families with young children. Kids can participate in workshops and all kinds of child-friendly activities at absolutely no cost through 8 pm.

Also on the 30th, you can catch outstanding performances ranging from traditional Neapolitan folk songs to modern Christmas tunes all performed by the City of Naples Choir. The show begins at 10:30 am at the Nisida Juvenile Penitentiary Institute.

December 31st

At 12 noon, the Nuova Scarlatti Youth Orchestra will hold a concert at Palavesuvio. The ensemble will include a mixture of classical while paying tribute to Naples’ traditional folk music. Admission is free while seats last.

And for the moment you’ve been waiting for…the actual New Year’s Eve lineup in Piazza del Plebiscito! Beginning at 9:30 pm, you can catch a star-studded lineup of Italian actors and public figures on stage until the countdown at midnight. A DJ set will take it from there playing dance hits for several more hours into the early morning.
